Chelsea Steel

Chelsea received a B.S. in Conservation and Resource studies at UC Berkley and has been working for different ecology laboratories at UCSB for the past 4 years. Her studies involved courses that would prepare her to practice and teach engaged environmental education. Her graduating research project was on the North Fork Mono tribe that is working with the forest service and local schools and volunteers to manually restore meadows that traditionally have been kept clear by the use of fires. Since graduating, Chelsea has been interested in people's psychological connection or disconnection with nature and how that impacts mental health and environmental health and harmony across cultures. They are now back in school to explore Psychology with an interest in Clinical Psychology and Counseling. In her free time Chelsea loves to go on hikes and other outdoor adventures or enjoys doing craft projects at home.
